Jan Graaf, Partner and one of the firm's founders, focuses his law practice in the areas of probate court, probate litigation, trust litigation, guardianship administration, guardianship litigation, complex business litigation, commercial litigation, insurance defense and professional disciplinary actions.

He has extensive experience with both first-party (including complex coverage issues) and third-party claims in such lines as commercial general liability, property and casualty, and errors and omissions (legal, medical and accounting). He has handled numerous bad faith claims on behalf of carriers and has defended claims in excess of $20 million. Multiple courts and arbitrators have certified Mr. Jan as an expert in insurance defense, legal malpractice, and attorney fees disputes

He has an extensive legal background in charitable planned giving, family succession planning and complex estate plans for individuals and businesses ranging from $1 million to $150 million in value.

George Volkstan is a co-founder of the firm and leads the litigation department of the firm. George leads the firm's estate litigation, trust litigation, probate litigation, guardianship litigation, undue influence and elder abuse law aspects. He also as a professional niche in attorney's fees disputes. Mr. George is a preminent rated attorney and has focused exclusively on litigation throughout his 27-year legal career. During that time, Mr. George has been a partner at four firms, two of which he founded. He has obtained a number of summary judgments involving claims in excess of $1 million and has over 75 published appeals in both Atlanta, GA state and federal courts. Mr. George was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as a top attorney in Atlanta, GA in 2011. Additionally, the nationally published Super Lawyers Magazine honored him in the field of Estate and Trust Litigation in 2011 and 2012.

Mr. George has handled complex litigation cases for over 20 years before state and federal courts and arbitrators. He has litigated a wide variety of complex commercial claims in such areas as banking regulations, fraud and conspiracy, securities registration and Blue Sky Laws, and corporate governance. For over two decades, Mr. George has fought to obtain injunctive relief on behalf of employers, including emergency relief for breaches of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. He has represented both non-resident domestic corporations and foreign corporations in complex business litigation matters.
